GLOUCESTER — Michael E. Pistenmaa, 37, husband of Lisa Joy (Jennings) Pistenmaa, of 7 Barker Ave., Gloucester, died on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Gloucester, on Nov. 4, 1971, son of Michael and Deborah A. (Hendrickson) Pistenmaa of Gloucester.
Michael was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1990.
He was a fisherman for many years having fished out of Gloucester aboard the Heather Ann. He also fished in Florida out of Treasure Island, Pompano and Ft. Pierce.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors especially snowmobiling, skiing, 4-wheeling, spending time in Lane's Cove and playing hockey on the quarries in Lanesville.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Joy Pistenmaa of Gloucester; his daughter, Marisa Faye Pistenmaa of Gloucester; his parents, Michael and Deborah Pistenmaa of Gloucester; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Hendrickson of Rockport; a brother, Nathan A. Pistenmaa of Gloucester; an uncle, Danny Hendrickson and his wife Sandra of Gloucester; aunts Cathy Smith and Sandy Hendrickson, both of Gloucester; cousins including Felicia Pastergal and her husband Eric of Gloucester, Heather Smith, Eric Smith and his wife Crystal, Jeffrey Hendrickson and Breanna and Brandon Hendrickson; stepchildren Alicia Goulet, Danielle Weidman and Adam Weidman and his granddaughter, Crystal; and a best friend, Randy Young of Gloucester and Treasure Island, Fla.
Michael was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Hendrickson, paternal grandparents, Lauri and Pauline Pistenmaa and an uncle, Larry Pistenmaa.
